Any ELECTRICAL Designer release can manage AutoCAD Electrical DWG data as both use same CAD core (AutoCAD).
Since release 2008 ELECTRICAL Designer (both PRO & LT) can also manage AutoCAD electrical data without any data translation requirement.
For example this means that ELECTRICAL Designer can absorb an AutoCAD electrical project and understand components and their connections, being capable to produce bills of materials and connections lists from them.
